Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 12, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how STRATOSCAN (the “Service”) uses cookies and similar technologies — browser local storage and session storage — to operate the Service and improve your experience. For broader information about how we handle data, see our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. They allow a website to remember information between visits or pages. “Local storage” and “session storage” are similar technologies that store data in your browser without using a traditional cookie file.
2. Cookies we use
Strictly necessary
These are required for the Service to work. You cannot opt out of them, though you may block them in your browser at the cost of some functionality.
theme(local storage) — remembers your light/dark mode preference.accessToken(local storage) — set when you sign in; allows you to remain logged in and submit contract writes. Removed when you log out or clear browser storage.
Functional
These improve the experience but the Service still works without them.
stratoscan:recent(local storage) — the last 12 blocks, transactions, addresses, or tokens you viewed. Shown under “Recently viewed” on the home page.stratoscan:pinned(local storage) — items you have starred for quick access.stratoscan:tags(local storage) — local labels you have attached to addresses (e.g. “My main wallet”).
Functional storage lives only on your device. We do not transmit it to our servers and other users cannot see it.
Analytics
We use third-party analytics to understand how visitors interact with the Service. These tools set their own cookies.
- Lucky Orange — collects session recordings, mouse movements, clicks, and scroll behaviour. See Lucky Orange’s privacy policy for details on its cookies.
3. Cookies set by the STRATO platform
When you sign in, the STRATO authentication server (Keycloak) and the network gateway may set additional cookies on their own domains for session management and CSRF protection. These are outside STRATOSCAN’s direct control.
4. Your choices
- You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings.
- You can browse the public block explorer without logging in. No authentication cookies are set in that mode.
- You can use private/incognito browsing to prevent cookies and local storage from persisting between sessions.
- You can block third-party cookies in your browser to opt out of analytics; the Service will continue to function.
5. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
